Champlain Governance Advisory Councils: Terms of Reference

Our LHIN has set up a formal model to help with the communication process between the LHIN and Health Service Providers. Chairs of Health Service Providers will meet by Communities of Care in late April and early May 2010 to select representatives, as per term of reference, to sit on Council.

LHIN/Health Service Provider Governance Resource and Toolkit on Voluntary Integration Initiatives

This toolkit was developed through a joint initiative of five Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), associations representing the health service providers funded through the LHINs, and the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The toolkit is now available on the Central LHIN website (click here).

In May 2007, the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Board of Directors began engaging all Health Service Providers (HSPs) and key funding partners in a new manner of dialogue known as Collaborative Board Governance.

Collaborative Governance can be defined as boards working together effectively to achieve a common goal. In our case the common goal is the successful implementation of the LHIN Integrated Health Service Plan and other integration priorities.

The intent of Collaborative Board Governance is to create a better alignment of our collective health objectives within the LHIN’s overall community engagement and legal framework.
